Slowdown #1 (2014)

“Slowdown #1” is the first in a series of experimental videos dedicated to time dilation, where the crossing of an obstacle by three race horses is slowed down to an extreme. As the deceleration increases, space-time is disrupted and the elements, as their mass grows, lose their usual appearance, before crashing into a metaphoric black hole.


About Jean-Michel Rolland

Jean-Michel Rolland is a French artist born in 1972. A musician and a painter for a long time, he melts his two passions — sound and image — in digital art since 2010. At the origin of each of his creations, musicality plays a role as important as image does and each one influences the other by transmediality. The result is a series of experimental videos, audiovisual performances, generative animations and interactive installations where sound and image are so inseparable that the one without the other would lose its meaning.
